PRINCETON - Scholarship available
Heartland Bank and Trust Company, as trustee of the Henkel Scholarship Trust, is seeking applications for the 2015 scholarship award. PERU - DBSA Support Group
The DBSA (Depression, Bi-Polar, Anxiety, Association) of the Illinois Valley support group meets every first and third Monday of the month on the fourth floor in conference room C from 6:30-8 p.m. at Illinois Valley Community Hospital in Peru. For more information, call (815) 252-0200.

PRINCETON- Diabetes Meeting Offered Monthly
Perry Memorial Hospital wants to provide information and support to those who are dealing with diabetes. Each month, on the 2nd Tuesday, Perry has an informational meeting to provide up-to-date guidelines and realistic ways to manage the diagnosis of diabetes. LASALLE - Fisheries Biologist with IDNR will speak.
Ken Clodfelter, a fisheries biologist with Illinois Department of Natural Resources will be speaking at the Lasalle VFW Wednesday, March 25th at 7pm.  Public is invited to attend.

STREATOR - Relay for Life in Memory of David Hallowell
Take a bite out of Cancer with a fund raiser for Relay for Life! David’s Dingles Relay Team is sponsoring a Tenderloin or Chicken tenders dinner Thursday, March 26th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. It’s at Knights of Columbus on Oakley Avenue in Streator. It’s just $7 per person, and carry outs are available. Enjoy a great dinner as we Relay in Memory of our friend, David Hallowell. 

PERU - Library to host presentation
The Peru Public Library will host a presentation by Jim Gibbons titled, "Our Lasy of the Angels Scool Fire," beginning at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 26, in the library's main reading area. Genealogy Society Meeting

STREATOR - First United Methodist Church rummage sale.
The First United Methodist Church, 201 South Monroe Street, Streator will hold its Spring Rummage Sale, Friday, March 27, 2015, 3 to 7 p.m. and Saturday, March 28, 9 to 11 a.m. 1/2 price sale and the $3 bag sale 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.  Good clean useable items will be accepted 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, March 23 through Wednesday, March 25, 2015.  No electronics please.  All proceeds go to United Methodist Women's Mission Projects. 

OTTAWA - Prairie Singers will perform at the Reddick Mansion.
The Prairie Singers will perform their 2015 Spring program, "Singers' Choice" at the Reddick Mansion, on two nights. Friday, March 27 and Saturday, March 28, both evenings at 7 p.m.  For this year's springconcert, The Prarie Singers will perform songs they have chosen themselves for their past 27 years of music making.  The Prarie Singers include erformers from Grundy, LaSalle, Livingston and Kendall counties.  After the concert in the lovely West Parlors of the Mansion, coffee, punch, and a dessert will be served on the lower level.  Tickets are $12, for the concert and refreshements.  Because of the popularity of this event, reservations are required.  Please contact the Reddick mansion at (818) 433-6100 to reserve your seat. 

PERU - Public Library bake sale
TAG, Teen advisory group for the Peru Public Library, will be holding a bake sale on Saturday, March 28, from 9 A.M. until 1 P.M. in the lbrary's main lobby.  Proceeds from the bake sale will be used for young adult materials and programs at the library. 

LASALLE - Easter distribution set
The Illinois Valley Food Pantry’s Easter Distribution will be held at the pantry on Saturday, March 28, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. To be eligible for the food order, you must be registered with the food pantry. The sign up deadline is Wednesday, March 25.

OTTAWA - Basket Bingo at Ottawa Pavilion
Basket Bingo, Sunday, March 29, 2015.  Doors open at 11 a.m. and Bingo begins at noon at Ottawa Pavilion, 704 E. Glover St. Ottawa IL.  (Parking is available on East Glover street parking lot in back of building) Price if pre-paid, $10, per ticket, $5 each addtional pack. Price at the door is $15 per ticket and $10 each additional pack of 15 sheets.  Raffles and food will be available for purchase. Space is limited. STREATOR - Weight Management Program
HSHS St. Mary's Hospital Create Your Own Weight Program is a twelve week course facilitated by a Registered Dietitian, that helps participants discover the barriers and solutions to healthy weight management.  The program will be offered three times throught the year.  The cost to participate is $150 and includes ten group classes, weekly weigh-ins, a participant guide, an appetite awareness book, and a one-on-one, hour long session with a registered dietitian.  There will be a free information session on Tuesday, March 31 from 6 - 7 P.M. in Assembly Hall North at St. Mary's Hospital.  For more information on the program, please contact Anne Lauterjung at 815 673 2311, ext. 3649 or email

Saturday April 4, 2015 at the Mendota Golf Course. Games begin at 7 P.M. Blackjack, chck a luck, beat the dealer, craps, tip boards, 50/50, cash bar and there is no entry fee.  Food will be available from 6 P.M. - 9 P.M. Sponsored by Mendota Chamber of Commerce.  

STREATOR - Quarter Auction at Streatpr Moose
The SGS Band-Aids will be the recipient of funds raised at the April 16, 2016 Quarter Auction at the Streator Moose! We need a huge crowd to make the event successful!! Please plan to come and bring a few friends. It is an enjoyable evening. There will be food and drinks available that evening, and children are welcome!!

UTICA - Pancake breakfast
Waltham Elementary School District 185 will host a pancake breakfast on Sunday, April 19, from 8 a.m .until 12:30 p.m. in the Walthan North Gym in Utica. The breakfast includes pancakes, sausage and beverage. Tickets are $6 per person for adults, $3 for children ages 4 through 13 and free to children 3 and under. There will also be rafles, a 50/50 drawing and door prizes. Proceeds will benefit students and teachers of Waltham Elementary School.

UTICA - Nothing's Sweeter than a Child
LaSalle County CASA (court appointed special advocate) will hold its 8th annual "Nothing's Sweeter than a Child" chocolate sampling and auction on April 19, at Celebrations 150 in Utica. MENDOTA - Medota Museum & Historical Society Pullman District Trip
Tour the historic Pullman District, which includes bus transportation, lunch (including tips) and admission to tHistorcia Pullman District, video, visitors center, guided bus tour through downtown Pullman District. LOCKPORT - 44th Annual Old Canal Days Festival
The 44th annual Old Canal Days Festival, including the annual Arts & Crafts Show will be held on Saturday & Sunday, June 20 & 21, 2015. The juried arts & crafts  is on Saturday the 20th 10-5 p.m. and Sunday the 21st 10-4 p.m. Booth fees are $100 for standard and $120 for a corner.
