Man arrested in possible burglaries in rural Streator

STREATOR — A Rockford man was arrested yesterday morning following a report of a possible burglary near Streator. The La Salle County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called out to a business at the corner of Illinois Route 23 and Richards Road, north of Streator, just after 5 AM for a possible burglary. Authorities say during the investigation, they found a semi-tractor trailer abandoned down North 17th Road, north of Kangley, and discovered that the truck came from the business. Authorities also said another farm building and several residences along Route 23 were also entered. Deputies arrested 27-year old Derek Johnson and charged him with burglary and possession of a stolen vehicle and took him to the La Salle County Jail.
