MENDOTA- Tennessee authorities say the search for a missing Mendota man has so far been unsuccessful. Mendota Police say that 67 year old Stanley B. Vodden reportedly left Destin Florida to go home to Mendota on March 1st. Family members reported Vodden missing after he failed to arrive in Illinois.
Earlier this week, Tennessee officials found Vodden’s car, a 2017 Kia Sportage, near Mississippi River backwaters north of Memphis. Thursday the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department notified Mendota authorities that after 2 days of exhaustive searching, involving search and rescue teams, helicopters, drones, foot patrols, and water rescue teams, their search has been unsuccessful.
Lauderdale County officials say they will resume their search on Friday.
