SANDWICH – A woman allegedly took a puppy from a parked vehicle in Sandwich Saturday Morning. According to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office a puppy was in a van parked outside of a church on South County Line Road. The owner of the puppy said the windows were down and the animal had food and water. The Sheriff’s department indicated the outside temperature was 72 degrees and the victim stated she was inside the church for eight minutes.
After an investigation a 34-year-old Sandwich woman was found to allegedly be in possession of the animal in her apartment based upon a description from eyewitness. She was charged with unlawful entry to a vehicle and theft. The animal was returned to the owner unharmed.
