SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Department of Natural Resources received reports of Edizootic Hemorrhagic Disease in white tail deer. So far over 50 suspected cases were reported to the IDNR. The disease appeared at low to moderate levels in counties on or near the Illinois River, including Putnam County. The IDNR continues to ask landowners, hunters and citizens to be on the lookout for dead or dying deer, and report suspected EDH cases to their local INDR office.
