AURORA – Two men were shot, one fatally, while inside of a car in an Aurora coin laundry parking lot Wednesday evening.
Around 7 p.m. Aurora police say there was no discernible description of the suspect who walked up to the vehicle in the 800 block of W. Illinois Ave., shot multiple times into it and then ran from the scene. Both men were hit more than once by gunfire.
The deceased man is 25-years-old from Aurora. The other victim, a 22-year-old Chicago man, suffered apparent non-life threatening wounds. He was taken to an Aurora hospital by Aurora Fire Department Paramedics for treatment.
The name of the deceased man is being withheld until family notification is made.
A definite motive has not been established but police say the crime does not appear to be random in nature.
An autopsy will be performed later Thursday at the Kane County Coroner’s Office.
