Large Field Fire Saturday South of Mendota

MENDOTA – Around noon on Saturday a large field fire started south of the city of Mendota and spread eastward across East 3rd road and North 4050th Road.   Many area departments responded to battle the fast moving fire through harvested fields.    The National Weather Service had issued a wind advisory, with winds gusting in excess of 55 mph.   No injuries were reported in the field fire, and the cause is under investigation.
