MORRIS – A construction worker is conscious after being extricated from a trench when a dirt wall collapsed, in Morris on Monday. According to the Morris Police Department just after 11 a.m. Morris Fire Protection and EMS were called to the 1900 block of Mountain road for an accident at a construction site. According to Police, witnesses state a construction crew was digging a sewer trench for a residential building when a dirt wall collapsed on an employee inside the 7 1/2 foot deep trench. Authorities say the Morris Fire Department and approximately 20 other agencies have responded to the scene. According to police, the 49-year-old victim is said to be conscious and alert. He was transported via helicopter to a local area hospital.
