ILLINOIS – The American Red Cross has an urgent need for blood donors to ensure blood is available for medical treatments and emergencies during the holiday season. According to the Red Cross, blood donations often decline during the holidays, along with severe winter weather causing blood drive cancellations. In thanks for helping to meet urgent need during the holidays, all those who donate through December 19th will receive a five dollar amazon gift card via email.
Blood drives will be held in Ottawa at Carpenter’s Local 195 on Tuesday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., in Peru at Illinois Valley Chapter Donation Center from 12 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., and in Streator at New Beginnings Baptist Church on Thursday, from 1:45 p.m. to 6 p.m.
