MENDOTA – A 26-year-old Mendota man was arrested on Heroin charges Monday after an investigation by the Mendota Police Department and the Tri-County Drug Enforcement Narcotics Team. According to the Mendota Police, they took Sergio A. Arzola into custody in the 1400 block of East Main Street. He was charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance after allegedly distributing purported heroin. Arzola was taken to the LaSalle County Jail, with bond set at $1,000,000. Authorities say the city of Mendota has been plagued with drug induced deaths this year, and are asking help from the public to provide information on anyone dealing illegal narcotics.
