AMBOY – Achild from Amboy was honored for his behavior during a home fire by the Amboy Fire Department. Tarek Luyando was recognized for doing the right thing and showing exemplary courage when a fire occurred in his home. Tarek was alerted by the smoke detectors, closed an access door to the fire, and exited his home to call 911. He was presented with a plaque by Assistant Chief Scott Wittenauer and Firefighter Monty Hobbs.
