SPRING VALLEY – A sewage pump in Spring Valley used to process and move waste fluids with high solids content is causing issues for the water treatment plant. In a city council meeting on Monday, City Engineer Mike Richetta addressed the on going sludge pump issue, that was discovered in November when sewer treatment operator, Rob Baracani discovered the pump was falling off. Richetta says the waste pump is currently producing nearly four gallons per minute compared to 20 gallons per minute this time last year. He says he and Baracani are looking at options that include a static mixer, a device used to continuously mix waste fluids.
