PERU – Hazardous weather is expected for portions of north central and northeast Illinois, according to the national weather service. A flood warning continues for the Illinois River affecting, LaSalle, Bureau and Putnam County. Excessive cold risks will remain in effect for tonight into tomorrow. Widespread dense fog and strong winds are expected to gust up to 40 mph. The weather service says cold air may cause lingering moisture to freeze on untreated surfaces.
