MENDOTA – The city of Mendota elected to add e-cigarette devices to their list of tobacco products that is prohibited under the age of 18. In a city council meeting on Monday, Alderman Kyle Kim made the recommendation to amend a city ordinance regarding tobacco and tobacco products. Language was added to the current ordinance stating all electronic smoking devices including hookah, vape or electronic cigarette is unlawful to posses or purchase if you are under 18-years-old. Alderman Kim Kyle says the recommendation comes after learning of its popularity amongst high school students.
