SPRINGFIELD – State Senator Sue Rezin gave her reactions to Gov. Prizkers budget address, Wednesday. Sen. Rezin says she’s apprehensive of some of the ideas Gov. Prizker has proposed. Most concerning is the potential for increased taxes. In his budget address to the general assembly, Gov. Pritzker laid out options to fix the state’s budget deficit including raising revenue and imposing more flat taxes, which fall disproportionately on the working, poor and the middle class. The option could require imposing sales taxes on services, implementing a retirement tax, or raising the income tax overall by around 20%. Sen. Rezin says residents cannot afford Springfield taking more of their hard earned money.
