Vactor Manufacturing expanding, creating job opportunities

STREATOR – Vactor Manufacturing Inc. in Streator announced its expansion, Wednesday. The $2.5 million project will add 100,000 square feet to the existing facility located on the 1600 block of S. Illinois Street. Vice President and General Manager Sam Miceli says, the project is estimated to create 90 jobs, adding positions almost immediately to get new hires up to speed. In a council meeting, the city passed a resolution authorizing an agreement to facilitate the major expansion of its largest employer, through Tax Increment Finance funds of $2.5 million in bonds. The Greater Livingston County Economic Development Council also agreed to support the project, funding $7,500 per factory job created. Miceli says the majority of the facility is to be completed by end of this year.
