STREATOR – Streator High School is partnering with Vactor Manufacturing to train students on machinery operation that would qualify them for positions upon graduation. Vactor has agreed to purchase a brake press machine for the high school’s welding department so that students can acquire foundational knowledge on welding. As a result, Vactor plans to hire four graduating seniors for positions in welding and fabrication. Vactor will guide the training process necessary for students to have the central skills they look for. Superintendent Matt Seaton says classroom training on the machine wont begin until next year.
