New Mayor in Ottawa

OTTAWA – Voter’s in the city of Ottawa elected a former commissioner as their next Mayor. Daniel F. Aussem will replace outgoing Mayor Robert M. Eschbach. Aussem came in with 52 percent of the vote, while opponent Julie Johnson trailed in at nearly 48 percent of the vote. Commissioner’s Wayne A. Eichelkraut Jr. and James J. Less will be keeping their seats along with Thomas G. Ganiere. Eichelkraut Jr. came in at the top, with 15 percent, trailing behind incumbent Ganiere with nearly 14 percent of the vote. Less has 11 percent of the vote, and new commissioner Marla Rodriguez, at nearly 11 percent.
