Peru yard waste pickup moved to Fridays

PERU – Jim Pozzi of Republic Services spoke to Peru city council members about a change in yard waste pickup Monday evening. Pozzi announced that yard waste pickup would be changed from Monday to Friday going forward. He explained that Republic Services lacked the manpower to complete pickups last year on Monday. While some alderman voiced their disagreement with the change, city clerk David Bartley explained that if Republic Services is able to pick up in a timely matter, there shouldn’t be an issue.
