STREATOR – Safety concerns of Bing Armstrong Memorial Park was brought attention to before Streator’s council, Wednesday. Graffiti, broken playground equipment and shattered glass were some of the concerns raised about the park located on the corner of Wilson and Wasson Street. According to a community member, nearly 150 people signed a petition to support getting the repairs done in addition to building a community garden. A meeting with Public Works was suggested and Mayor Lansford says he wants to explore the idea of a garden.
