STREATOR – The Streator Police Department is investigating an attempted robbery in a parking lot Monday. According to authorities, a female victim stated that she had been allegedly grabbed from behind by an unknown male in the parking lot of a store in the 1400 block of East Main Street while carrying her purse to her vehicle. The victim reported that the male did not speak to her before or after he allegedly assaulted and battered her. It was reported that the suspect was not able to obtain the victim’s purse and fled the parking lot on foot. The suspect was described as being 5’09” tall and weighing approximately 150 pounds. The suspect was wearing light blue colored khakis styled pants, light colored jacket, light colored stocking hat with face covered. The Streator Police Department is investigating this report as an attempted robbery, and is asking for the public’s help in solving this case.
