OTTAWA – As his last action as mayor, Bob Eschbach approved of the long-awaited canal re-watering project at Ottawa’s City Council meeting, Tuesday. Bids were awarded to John Pohar and Sons for storm sewer work and sewer lining. Concrete work was awarded to D Construction, totaling over $545,000. Mayor Dan Aussem says he will appoint Bob Eschbach to oversee the project. Other alternatives are being explored for the well project, including sourcing water from the Fox River. According to Aussem, it would be more responsible than drilling a well through the canal. The bid for the well project will be open for 90 days for consideration.
