DEPUE – Kayakers who needed to be rescued were the cause of a call to area river rescue crews at Lake Depue Saturday. According to authorities Peru and Spring Valley River Rescue crews were notified that two people needed to be brought back to land after capsizing their kayaks around 6 PM. One person swam to safety while Peru was able to locate and retrieve the other kayaker. No injuries were reported.
