OTTAWA – Residents in Ottawa are now required to have their dog on a leash when walking them. The city council updated their leash law on Tuesday night, to ensure residents are keeping a handle on their dogs when walking them outside the boundaries of their property. City Attorney Christina Cantlin says the prior ordinance did not specifically require dogs to be on a leash at all times.
The amended ordinance is effective immediately or you could be fined a minimum of $75.
