STREATOR – A Monday afternoon house fire in Streator damaged a home, but no injuries were reported. According to the Streator Fire Department, they were called to a home in the 300 block of LaSalle Street around 5 PM for smoke in a home. When they arrived, the occupants were able to escape but the department did rescue three dogs, two cats and a guinea pig. According to authorities the kitchen was the origin of the accidental fire with damage estimated to be around $10,000. The American Red Cross was called in to assist the residents.
