STREATOR – The village of Dana, Longpoint and Ancona are under a boil order, according to Illinois American Water. The community’s distribution system experienced a drop in water pressure below 20psi threshold. Streator’s fire department says a water main break caused water pressure to drop on Wednesday night, however Illinois American Water says not enough to call a boil order.
Customers in the effected areas should bring their water to a rolling boil for 5 minutes before using water for drinking or cooking. Water is OK for bathing, washing and other common uses. The boil water order is expected to be in effect for approximately 36-48 hours.
