STREATOR – Illinois American Water customers in the Streator District are being directed to conserve water immediately. According to the utility company, it is advised to restrict all non-essential water use and refrain from non-critical water uses like running sprinklers and washing machines. Avoid filling bath tubs and use showers instead. Due to these restrictions the Streator Fire Department is implementing a burn ban until further notice. The ban covers all outdoor burning of landscape waste. As a result of low water pressure, the village of Dana, Longpoint and Ancona remain under a boil water order. The village of Kangley and the following streets in the city of Streator are under a boil water order:
South First through Fourth streets
Sundown Street
Oakley Avenue
Columbus Street
Coeville Road
J Street
M Street
