MINNESOTA – Del Monte Foods is reportedly closing another facility in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota. According to media outlets, on Tuesday the company notified the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development that it plans to permanently shut down the 89-year-old plant at the end of this years harvest and packing season. The closure is said to take place around October 21st. This news comes after the California-based company notified employees of their Mendota, Illinois plant that they plan to close permanently by spring of 2020.
