UNDATED – No injuries were reported after a wrong way driver crashed his vehicle into a Woodford County Sheriff Deputy’s vehicle on Thursday morning. According to the Woodford County Sheriff’s Department, at 4 a.m. they received calls of a wrong way driver on I-39, reported to be heading southbound in the northbound lane at mile marker 36, between Lostant and Wenona in Marshall County. Authorities say, two deputies responded to the area to attempt to locate the driver. One deputy encountered the driver at mile marker 27, nearing a stop when the wrong way driver allegedly hit the deputy head on. Both vehicles were towed from the scene and neither the deputy nor the driver required any medical attention. The incident remains an investigation by the Illinois State Police.
