SPRING VALLEY – Spring Valley’s Police Department is ready to hire on a full time officer. In May, Spring Valley’s city council agreed to allow the police department to begin searching for at least one new officer after Chief Sangston addressed the need. At Wednesday night’s committee meeting, Sangston says after reviewing the first year cost and expected revenues the city will remain in good financial standing. The department recruited an existing part time officer to fill the space, and Chief Sangston says he’s ready to go.
