LASALLE – The Tri-County Drug Enforcement Narcotics Team arrested two men after a controlled purchase of purported cocaine on Tuesday in LaSalle, authorities say. At around 3:15pm on Tuesday, Trident, assisted by the LaSalle Police Department and Peru Special Investigations, conducted a controlled purchase of less than one gram of purported cocaine on Third Street from Tyler W. Dennis, of Wenona, and Maceo M. Johnston, of Dekalb. Officials state that Dennis, 24, and Johnston, 22, were stopped by LaSalle Police after leaving the area and were later transported to LaSalle County Jail. Both men have been charged with Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled Substance, a Class 2 Felony.
