JOLIET – A child is dead after a domestic dispute reportedly ended in gunfire Saturday in Joliet. The Joliet Police Department say they were called around 2:45 PM to a residence in the 8300 block of Buckingham Lane for a disturbance phoned in by a neighbor. Upon arrival police found a 32-year-old and a 9-year-old female in front of the home who were apparently injured. The victims said they heard gunshots from the home before authorities arrived and that another child, a boy was also inside. The Joliet Police departments Special Operations Squad and Crisis Negotiators attempted to communicate with the 35-year-old male suspect but they were unable to do so. Police entered the residence and discovered the male suspect and an 18-month-old child deceased. The incident is still under investigation by the Joliet Police Department.
