MENDOTA – Like many other locals towns, Mendota will implement a municipal sales tax on legal marijuana. On Thursday night, Mendota’s City Council held a special meeting to approve the 3% sales tax before the state’s September 30th deadline. City Attorney says the city is acting now to take full advantage of the revenue opportunity so that they can impose the tax once legalized, otherwise they may have to wait until September 2020.
