DEKALB – A single vehicle crash took the life of a Sycamore high school student and his mother Saturday in rural DeKalb County. The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office say that 17-year-old Kal-El Sexton was driving on Plank Road near Lukens Road when for unknown reasons the vehicle left the roadway and rolled over. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger, Sexton’s mother, 46-year-old Dalahn Colley was ejected from the vehicle. She was taken to an area hospital was pronounced deceased. Sexton was a Senior at Sycamore High School and was the Homecoming King.
