MENDOTA – A Mendota man was arrested twice within 24 hours on charges of retail theft and burglary. The Mendota police department say that on Friday they were called to investigate a reported retail theft at a grocery store. The following day, 21-year-old Brandon E. Thompson was arrested at the same grocery store allegedly committing another theft. He was taken to the Mendota Police Department where he was charged with both thefts and given a court date. On Sunday, around 2:30 AM, Thompson was allegedly seen entering parked vehicles near Guiles Avenue and Carolyn Street in Mendota. He was taken into custody and transported to the LaSalle County Jail and charged with a Class 2 Felony Burglary to motor vehicle and Criminal Trespass to motor vehicle. Thompson is being held on a $60,000 bond.
