STREATOR – Pretty soon there could be rules included in Streator’s Facade Grant Program. Every year businesses in Streator apply for the grant, some twice. City Manager David Plyman says its a good problem to have, but structure is needed. He and plan commission came up with a few rules to recommend to city council: first come first serve basis for first time applicants through July and construction completed within 12 months to those awarded grants.
