PERU – An emergency call for a person who was not responsive at a Peru business on Tuesday had a positive outcome thanks to the work of the Peru Police Department. Mayor Scott Harl on social media said that Peru Officers John Atkins, Nick Biagioni and Jeff Paul and Commander Sarah Raymond arrived in around one minute to the scene and proceeded to render aid. The patrol cars were equipped with oxygen and an external defibrillator which was used in helping the victim. Harl said he could not be prouder of the officers, and that the person who they helped save is recovering in a Peoria hospital.
