SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Department of Public Health Friday announced 2,724 new cases of COVID-19 in Illinois, including 108 additional deaths. This is largest single day jump in case count reported since the pandemic began, however officials say that is due to increased and expanded testing. Currently, the IDPH is reporting a total of 39,658 cases, including 1,795 deaths, in 96 counties in Illinois.
