PERU – Peru Mayor Scott Harl announced Tuesday that the city would not be having its annual fireworks display this year. Harl stated that the primary decision for canceling the fireworks is not COVID-19 restrictions, but as a way to cut expenses. Although some aldermen brought up alternative ideas to the fireworks, no other decisions were made regarding them at Tuesday’s meeting.
