OGLESBY – A power outage that lasted about an hour Saturday afternoon in Oglesby was caused reportedly by a bird. Commissioner Jason Curran said that the Ameren substation near the fire department went down, causing the city and many other areas outside of town to lose power around 1:30 PM. Oglesby Electric Department, IMEA power distribution center and Ameren helped restore power. The bird did not survive.
