ROCKFORD – A Whiteside County man is facing a number of charges, including kidnapping and predatory criminal sexual assault after an investigation by the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office. They say that on June 22nd they received a report of a sexual assault of a 12-year-old female who had been reported as a runaway. During the course of the investigation, they discovered child pornography at a residence in Rockford, where the victim was also allegedly sexually assaulted. On July 2nd, the Whiteside County Sheriff’s office executed a search warrant on a home in Tampico where they found 31-year -old Brandon L. Abell. He was charged with five counts of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault, Child Pornography, Kidnapping, Traveling to Meet a Minor, Indecent Solicitation of a Child and Grooming. Abell is being held on $500,000 bond.
