STERLING – A man from Saint Clair County was arrested on gun and drug charges after an incident on I-39 on Monday. The Illinois State Police say that 19-year-old Jalen D. Kizer-Watson of Cahokia was allegedly a passenger in a vehicle traveling northbound in Lee County when the police received a report of an individual who displayed a handgun on the highway. According to authorities, a trooper stopped the vehicle and during the investigation allegedly discovered a loaded weapon and narcotics. Kizer-Watson was charged with Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Ammunition without a FOID and Illegal Transportation of Cannabis. He was taken to the Ogle County Jail with bond yet to be set.
