UNDATED – The LaSalle County Democrats hosted a Zoom meeting with State Representative Lance Yednock to discuss recent criminal justice reform legislation on Wednesday. The controversial House Bill 3653 was the topic of discussion for the LaSalle County Democrat’s forum, leading a series of informal conversations centered on politics. Yednock, who voted against the bill, says a few major components were modified before the final vote.
The bill includes the abolishment of monetary bail, mandating the use of body cameras, and no requirement of an affidavit in complaining against a police officer.
Yednock says he is still trying to understand the entirety of the over 760-page bill but remains hopeful in police reform.
