LASALLE – The Illinois Valley Food Pantry will fully re-open to clients and the public beginning on Monday. Due to limitations during the pandemic, access to the facility had been limited to staff and volunteers. Pantry Executive Director Mary Jo Credi noted they will be following safe COVID-19 guidelines when they re-open, including limiting capacity, social distancing, and requiring masks for those individuals not fully vaccinated. Hope Week volunteers, organized by the Ax Church in LaSalle, made a number of repairs to the location on Wright Street as well as cleaning. Over the past 5 years Hope Week has accomplished 8175 hours of community service in the Illinois Valley and put $56,000 directly into various community projects.
