PERU – A two vehicle crash on I-80 took the lives of two children Tuesday. The Illinois State Police were called to I-80 westbound near mile marker 81 by Utica for the incident around 8 PM. The specific details of the crash were not yet released, but the LaSalle County Coroner’s Office confirmed an 8-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl from Peru were killed. The crash remains under investigation by the Illinois State Police.
