MENDOTA – The next big public art display in Mendota got one step closer to reality Monday night thanks to the Mendota City Council. They voted in favor of donating $10,000 from the Hotel/Motel Tax fund to go towards the Railroad Depot mural that will be installed at the 800 block of Monroe Street as part of the Silo Pathways Countryside Public Art Tour. To prepare for the eventual construction of the piece, the city agreed to cover the expense of moving the entrance of an adjacent parking lot, moving light poles, and re-striping the lot after the construction.
