PERU – The Peru Police Department are on the lookout for an individual they say attempted to cash stolen checks Tuesday. Authorities were called to a bank in the 4300 Block of Venture Drive around noon for a woman allegedly in the drive-up lane attempting to cash stolen checks with a stolen identification card. When police arrived, the woman reported fled to Illinois Route 251 and then on to Interstate 80, where the pursuit was ended. Peru Police say the woman, described as a blonde about 30-40 years old, was driving a vehicle with an allegedly stolen license plate. In a press release yesterday, they also note she is a person of interest in three other suburbs for similar incidents.
