MENDOTA – During the opening minutes of Friday’s football game in Mendota, play between the Trojans and visiting Princeton Tigers was briefly interrupted by a rather eager visitor, a Golden Retriever named Kobe. The two-year-old pup, owned by Nancy Cuevas Escatel, traveled a few houses up the road, after following her daughters who walked over to watch the game. He quickly ran into the area where the game was underway and dashed from the north end zone to the south half of the field. Escatel was able to lure Kobe back home thanks to a graciously donated hot dog.
