SPRINGFIELD – Governor J.B. Pritzker on Monday said he was confident that the assault weapons ban that was recently ruled unconstitutional by a Macon County Judge will be upheld on appeal. Oral arguments are set for May and the governor said he expects the state to prevail. The law, signed into law in January, was in response to the mass shooting in Highland Park during a parade.
