PERU – A motorist refueling their vehicle at a gas station on May Road in Peru was the victim of a reported armed robbery Tuesday night. The Peru Police Department say that around 10:45 PM a traveler exited I-80 at Illinois 251 to refuel their vehicle when they were allegedly approached by a suspect with a gun. The offender was described as wearing a dark colored hoodie and a full-face black mask. The Peru Police are investigating the possibility that the suspect may have had a getaway vehicle. The area was searched but no arrests have been made. The incident remains under investigation.
